Schoeman Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public (Schoeman Attorneys) is a boutique city based law firm. Our rates are based on the guidelines set by the cape law society for non- litigious matters. From time to time we also offer value-added services to their existing clients, such as distributing a monthly newsletter and reminders to update their wills and trust deeds at competitive rates.
The owner and founder of Schoeman Attorneys is Ms Nicolene Schoeman. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, as well as being a Conveyancer and Notary Public. She is also a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-B BEE) consultant.
She obtained her LLB degree cum laude and successfully completed her LLM degree (dissertation) in commercial law and B-B BEE at the University of the Free State. She is presently registered for a postgraduate diploma in financial planning (CFP – certified financial planning) at the University of Stellenbosch.
Her academic achievements have seen her awarded various prestigious awards. Amongst others they include:
- The Hofmeyr Herbstein Gihwala Inc. prize
- The Gildenhuys van der Merwe prize
- The Bobbert Medal (obtaining her LLB degree cum laude)
An abstract of her LLM dissertation was also published in the Journal for Estate Planning in 2006.
She lectured at the University of the Free State for two years and currently presents seminars and workshops on a wide range of relevant legal topics for institutions such as the Business Women’s Association of South Africa (BWA), Old Mutual Private Wealth, the Mining In-House council and Wheat Trust for women.
She is a finalist in the Professional Category – Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa’s (BWASA) Regional Business Achievers’ Awards (RBAA), Western Cape 2012 (winner will be announced on 25 May 2012).
